Prairie O&P Services was established in 1988 to bring personalized care combined with the latest technology to the western suburbs of Chicago. At Prairie, we work closely with the physician and therapist to achieve the best possible results for our clients. Over twenty five years of experience in the field of orthotics and prosthetics, as well as a background in Occupational Therapy is at the service of every client of Prairie.
The focus at Prairie is client satisfaction.The primary method used to achieve client satisfaction is understanding the goals and needs of the client. We listen. And we continue to listen throughout the process of successfully providing an orthopedic brace or artificial limb. Only by working together with the client can the optimal outcome be accomplished.
Orthotics and prosthetics are a significant part of a person's rehabilitation. An orthosis is a device applied to a person's body to substitute for weak muscles, to position or immobilize, or to correct deformities. A prosthesis is a device added to a person's body to replace a diseased part.
Donald McGovern is Board Certified for Prosthetics and Orthotics and Licensed in the State of Illinois for Prosthetics, Orthotics and Pedorthics. The American Board of Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics requires a practitioner to obtain a baccalaureate degree and complete accredited training programs in both Orthotics and Prosthetics. In addition, an internship of one year in each field is required.
