Your First Visit

At Prairie Orthotic and Prosthetic Services, Ltd., our facilities offer convenient hours. All visits are by appointment to provide the practitioner with the necessary time to focus on the individual needs of the client. To make an appointment call (708) 352-6766. The facility has off street parking and is wheelchair accessible.

Your First Visit
Depending on what type of fitting you will receive, you may be more comfortable with certain clothes.

Please bring the following items with you on your first visit:

For above the knee leg brace fittings or prosthetic fitting you may find shorts helpful.
For Back Brace Fittings (body jackets, corsets, etc.) you will be most comfortable with loose fitting garments and a T-Shirt.
For castings involving the torso, a pair of gym shorts with extra underwear or a bathing suit are recommended.

Please bring any previously worn brace or artificial limb which can be most helpful to discuss your particular needs and past experiences.

For small children who will be measured and casted for a new orthosis or prosthesis please try to have the child well rested, nap time is generally not the best time for an appointment. Often a favorite food is calming to the child. We have a videotape machine with a small variety of movies to watch, if your child has a favorite please feel free to bring it. We will do everything possible to allow you child to feel safe and unafraid.

Prescription from your doctor (all patients). All work done by us requires a prescrition from your physcian.

HMO- Authorization from primary physician/clinic
